Hope Community Church

Solar Installation

Overview

A staged solar installation for Hope Community Church that helps reduce electricity costs while supporting the long-term resilience of one of the region’s busiest community venues. The system has been expanded over time to meet growing energy demands.

Project Objectives

  • Reducing the venue’s reliance on grid electricity.

  • Supporting the church’s long-term energy resilience.

  • Delivering a scalable solar solution with future expansion in mind.

  • Increasing on-site renewable energy generation.

Approach

We designed and installed a 50 kW rooftop solar system for Hope Community Church, commissioning the initial stage in 2024 before expanding the system in 2025. The staged approach allowed the installation to grow alongside the venue’s operational requirements while maximising available roof space.

Outcome

The solar system is performing strongly and now generates more electricity than the site consumes. The installation reduces operating costs, supports future resilience planning, and provides a reliable renewable energy source for a venue that serves the wider Nelson community.

The team delivered a well-planned solar solution that performs exactly as promised and continues to exceed expectations. We couldn’t be happier.”
